Vincent DeVita, 78, of Columbia, TN, formerly of Union, KY and Long Island, NY, passed away peacefully on April 9th, 2025, after an extended illness.

Whether you knew him as Vincent, Vince, or the ever-charismatic Vinny, however you knew him, you knew someone unforgettable. Born on Long Island, NY, the son of Vincent & Stella DeVita, Vince graduated from Bay Shore High School in 1964 and married his wife Camille in 1986 in Island Park, NY. He was a devoted husband for over 40 years, and a loving father to Jessica and Giovanni.

Vince never met a stranger. Faith, family and friends were always his top priorities as well as coaching baseball at St. Henry High School, Beechwood High School, and the Ky Colonels, while also giving private lessons. His hobbies included golf, cooking, and volunteering for the Kid Glove fundraising program, Special Olympics, and Sons of Italy; He always found joy in sharing these with his loved ones. Vince worked for Pan Am Airlines and eventually retired from Delta Airlines after 40 years of service. Following his retirement, he devoted his time as a Recommending Scout for the Cincinnati Reds, the Reds RBI Academy and was involved with multiple Cincinnati Reds tryout camps. He also participated in the Tim Martin Baseball Showcase, Gene Bennett Baseball Classic, Florence Freedom bench coach and HITS Academy.

Remaining to cherish Vince’s memory are wife, Camille; son, Giovanni; daughter in-law Morgan and daughter, Jessica. Additionally, he is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Domenick, Gianna, Wells, and Willa. The legacy of his love and the memories created will be cherished by those who survive him, a testament to the beautiful life he led.

  2. From the life lessons you taught your children, to the love of tradition you shared , the choice to love your wife , children , & grandchildren, are what mattered most to you. You chose , Love. Love is what matters most, your Love will be remembered💗

  3. My time here in CVG wouldn’t have been complete without Vince. My up most respect for Vince personally and as a co worker. Found memories of Vince and Johnny Mize as my crew working the LGA inbound with the fresh bagels from New York. Two true Pan Am blue ballers. Vince was the most down to earth pleasant guys I’ve met. Much love and respect 🙏

  4. The first time I met Vince, my mom as she always did, volunteered my back out to help he and Camille move some things, because she had just sold them their home when they came here from New York. She told me, “I just sold a condo to a guy you’re going to be working with at Delta, and they could use some help!” I did as I always did when mom asked me to do something and went over. I fell in love with Vince as soon as he started talking!! He immediately started busting my chops about how big I was, and appreciated my coming over to help. After that day when he rolled into work he came over to me and said, “Thank you again for helping,” and preceded to tell me how much he adored my mom, and what a great lady she was for volunteering her son out to total strangers. We spent a lot of time together at work, and he always had such great stories about growing up in New York that I loved to hear. On Vince’s last day at work, he was on my crew, and as we were pushing the aircraft out, Vince was marshaling out the plane on the pilots side of the aircraft. I called up to the captain and said, “Hey can you do me a favor!?” He said, “sure what’s up?” I said, “The guy that will be saluting you, it’s his last day, he’s retiring.” Can you give him a proper New Yorker send off!!? He said, “What’s that?” I said, “when he salutes you, flip him off!” He laughed, and said, “you got it!” When we disconnected the plane from the jet tug, I started backing up slowly so I could see if the pilot would hold up his end of the bargain!!? Vince snapped out a salute, the pilot flipped him off, but because it was a sunny day out Vince apparently didn’t see what he did, and turned around and started walking back to the gate. I thought, well that was a bust!! Just then I saw the first officer
(a woman) opened up her window, climbed half way out of the plane, and screamed “HEY!!” Vince whipped around saw her hanging out the window, and started walking back to the aircraft to see what she wanted!?? She then screamed “FU&@ YOU” Flipped Vince the bird, and said,
“HAPPY RETIREMENT!!!” Vince stood there mouth wide open like a deer in the headlights!! I was rolling, he looked at me, shook his head and started cracking up!!! When we got back to the gate, I’m crying from laughing so hard, Vince came up to me and gave me a hug, and said “Thanks Stick!!” “that was the best flight I ever worked!” I’ve missed him ever since that final flip off!!!
Camille, words can’t express what an honor and privilege it was knowing your husband! I’m so glad my mom volunteered my back out to you all!! He was such a great guy!! My prayers, and heartfelt condolences go out to you, Giovanni, Jessica, and the entire family during this difficult time.
    Rest in peace Italian Stallion!!!
