Born in Nashville, Tennessee on February 7, 1983, Britney was a beloved daughter, mother, granddaughter, and cousin.A lifelong resident of Bellevue, Britney was a 2001 graduate of Hillwood High School and then obtained her certification in medical coding from Nashville State Community College in 2003. She had recently achieved certification as a Clinical Medical Assistant, a milestone of which she was immensely proud. Her career at Tennessee Oncology spanned over 20 years, where she served countless patients and is remembered for her dedication and infinite kindness. Britney possessed a rare and genuine empathy for others and is described by her colleagues as having a heart of gold for those she served.
As big as her heart was for her profession, the most meaningful part of Britney’s life was her family. Britney exemplified love and commitment as a mother to her two precious daughters, Abby and Kayla. She worked selflessly to ensure they had bright futures and was their rock during times of uncertainty. Britney was blessed beyond measure to meet the love of her life, Kane, in 2012. They would spend the next fourteen years creating a beautiful life of cherished family moments and adventures together.
As an only child, Britney had a very special bond with her mother, Lynn, whom she considered her best friend. Britney was so very proud of her family and loved nothing more than spending time with the ones she loved most.
Britney ensured every holiday was celebrated and every moment lived to the fullest. She loved taking scenic pictures, sunflowers, being outdoors, beach vacations, trying new restaurants and caring for shelter animals.
From a young age, Britney faced unique health challenges. Even when the odds were against her, she was a fighter until the end and handled her often difficult circumstances with grace and dignity. Her family takes comfort knowing Britney is now in the loving arms of her Taylor grandparents and grandma Hayes, all whom she adored.
In addition to family mentioned above, Britney is survived by her Father, Billy Joe Hayes, several Aunts and Uncles, and cousins. Britney was also one fourth of a very special “cousin crew” who share treasured childhood memories of holidays and summers spent together at their grandparent’s home in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
