Born in: De Land, Florida
Resided in: Nashville, Tennessee

Susan Dawn Lawless passed March 22, 2026 at home with her family and four legged loves, “Opie Boy” and Joey. She was born July 10, 1957 to parents George Matthew Lawless and Sarah Roode Bedrosian in Deland Florida.

After graduating from Chariho High School in 1976 she attended Providence Vocational School and was employed by the Westerly Nursing Home for 26 years. In 2011 she moved to Nashville Tn.

Susie was a generous soul who volunteered her time and talent at the Warm Shelter, The Johnny Cake Center and The Second Harvest Food Pantry. She tirelessly knitted for Women and Infants Hospital and Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. Her beautiful handwork was shared with many who continue to cherish those afghans. The Ryman was a favorite music venue and she loved attending live shows. She was an avid reader and loved Parnassus Books. She most recently attended St. David’s parish and was a member of the choir.

Susie cherished her nieces and nephews; Michaela, Lindsay, Lucy, Noah and Samara. Nothing made Susie happier than her great nieces and nephews; Karleigh, Keagan, Kyla, Miles, Madi and Reiss.

She is survived by her siblings; G. Michael Lawless and wife Mary of CT, C. Boni Lawless of RI, Melanie Lawless and wife Lori Ridgeway of TN, R. Matthew Lawless of TN, Mark Lawless of CT, Samuel Lawless and wife Elaine of FL.

Her passing reminds us to enjoy the simple pleasures in life as she did; time with those she loved, a good book, watching birds, live music, a shared meal and giving to others. This beautiful soul will be missed by many.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the John Prine Charitable Hello In There Foundation.

The celebration of life will be held at a later date.
