Thomas 'Tom" Hamilton

Thomas “Tom” Hamilton, age 76, of Thompson’s Station, Tennessee, entered into the presence of his Savior and received the fullness of eternal life on July 2, 2026.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Janice Hamilton; his son, Patrick (Kasey) Hamilton; his daughter, Kelly Hamilton; his stepdaughter, Brooke (Derick) Thompson; his sisters, Susan Sanderson and Robyn Cassel; his sister-in-law, Alicia Hamilton; many beloved nieces and nephews, and his loyal fur baby, Heidi. He was a devoted grandfather, affectionately known as “Ta,” to seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of whom brought him tremendous joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Earl and Paula Hamilton of Old Hickory, Tennessee, and his brother, Richard (“Dickie”) Hamilton.

Known to many as “Coach Hamilton,” Tom dedicated his life to investing in young people through education, athletics, and mentorship. During his distinguished career, he coached football, basketball, track and field, and cross country at several schools, leaving a lasting impact on countless students and athletes.

Tom was the founding Physical Education teacher at St. Paul Christian Academy, where he later served as Headmaster. He concluded his educational career with Williamson County Schools, teaching at both Page Middle School and Heritage Middle School before retiring.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tom was known for his love of sports and competition. Affectionately nicknamed “Yaz,” he enjoyed playing golf, cheering enthusiastically for the Tennessee Volunteers, and spending years pitching for the Maddox Motors softball team.

More than anything, Tom loved his family and treasured the relationships he built throughout his life. His kindness, humor, encouragement, and steadfast faith left a lasting legacy that will continue to impact those who knew and loved him.

Visitation with the Hamilton family will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Rolling Hills Community Church, Franklin Campus, located at 1810 Columbia Avenue, Franklin, Tennessee. A memorial service celebrating Tom’s life will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Nic Allen officiating.
