Harold "Tray" Wallace Welch, III

Harold Wallace Welch III, affectionately known to many as “Tray” died unexpectedly on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at the age of 47. Tray will be forever remembered by his mother Sharon (Pete), his brother Ryan (Jennifer), his sisters Samantha and Megan (Brian), his daughter Brandie (Andrew), his grandchildren, several nieces and nephews (some by blood, some by heart), many other family members, and countless friends. He is preceded in death by his father Harold Welch Jr., his grandparents Albert and Janet Coleman and Harold and Mary Frances Welch.

Those who knew him best remember him as an intelligent, polite, gentle giant who never stopped nerding out.

Tray was passionate about guns, books, and books about guns. He was an avid reader. He also loved various types of gaming, be it kicking back with his PlayStation, a handful of Magic cards, an all night Dungeons and Dragons session, or watching his favorite sports teams.

Tray was not a showy man by any means, but he had the incredible ability to make those around him feel accepted. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten by all who were lucky enough to know him.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you do something Tray would do. Read a book, play with a kitten, and always choose to be unapologetically yourself.

Celebration of life will be held on September 5, 2026, at Fernvale Church of Christ, 5911 Old Hwy 96 Franklin, Tn.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm with burial immediately to follow at 1:00 pm.
