Alvy Mitchell Osborne

Alvy Mitchell Osborne passed away surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, April 16th in Nashville, TN.

Mitch, as he preferred to be called, was not only a magnetic presence in a crowd but could never, try as he might, know a stranger. Throughout his life, his love for German Shepherds grew and, in the last few years, he could be seen driving and exploring Tennessee with his trusty dog, Luca. It brought both of them such immense joy to meet any and all those who were attracted to Mitch’s captivating personality and Luca’s adorable demeanor.

In his younger years, Mitch enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, and working on cars. One of his most admirable talents was, to many’s dismay, the ability to take apart an engine and put it back together again without any instruction. As he got older and after his marriage to Teresa and the birth of their daughter, Allison, Mr. Osborne could be found riding his tractor over their beautiful acreage in Springfield, TN and enjoying weekend rides on the boat with his family.

After moving to the country recently, he spent many a night relaxing on his porch, watching the birds, and listening to either Sting, Pavarotti, or Tina Turner, all while enjoying a pot of homemade stew with Luca. Throughout his entire life, Mitch strived to overcome so much adversity and never wavered as a stalwart personality, able to captivate anyone from a bank executive to a mall security guard into a two hour long conversation. Mitch, may you have the peace and tranquility that you deserve. Rest in Peace.

A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at St. Henry Catholic Church, 6401 Harding Pike, Nashville, TN 37205 with Father Andrew Bulso, Celebrant.

Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church.
