“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33
Georgia Lee Burroughs, 90, went home to the Lord on March 20, 2026. Georgia was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of God. Georgia was determined and fought every day to spend more time with her family. Her love for the Lord guided the way she lived each day. She had the gift of evangelism and her kindness, strength, and steadfast faith touched everyone who met her. She was the center of her family and left behind a legacy that will always be cherished.
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, George and Jessie Mae Horner; her brother, Ronnie Horner; and her sisters, Nadine Ryan, Anna Dorris, and Thelma Kephart.
She leaves behind her husband of 68 years, Bobby Joe Burroughs. Their marriage was a beautiful testimony of love, commitment, and devotion to Jesus and to one another. Together, they built a close- knit family that is rooted in faith.
Georgia was the proud mother of Timothy Burroughs (Tammy Burroughs), Thomas Burroughs (Jamie Burroughs), and Carol Darnell (Eritt Darnell). Georgia loved her children deeply. She was dedicated to her role and provided unconditional love and comfort whenever needed. She took pride in telling anyone who would listen about her children and their spouses.
She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Dalton Burroughs (Machalia Burroughs), Kendall Cox (Spencer Cox), Kaylyn Hoffman (Graham Hoffman), Hailey Snodgrass (Alec Snodgrass), Keeton Burroughs, Ella Darnell, Addy Darnell, and her great-grandchild, Callum Burroughs. Georgia truly loved being “Nana.” She always greeted her grandchildren with open and loving arms. All the grandchildren loved to spend the night with Nana and Grandbobby, who all shared laughs over a late-night bowl of ice cream.
Though she will be greatly missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is at peace in the presence of the Lord.
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8
