Born in: St. Louis, Missouri
Resided in: Franklin, Tennessee

Joelle Hollinger blasted off to be with Jesus for eternity on September 27, 2025 at the age of 50. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Joelle lived a vibrant life full of faith, praise and worship, and everything pickleball in Franklin, Tennessee.

Joelle’s journey began at Francis Howell North High School in St. Charles, Missouri, where she was the life of and hosted many parties. She was incredibly loved by every person who met her. She continued her education at Maryville University paving the way for a fulfilling career as an administrative assistant at Renaissance Financial in St. Louis before rejoining Lockton for the past four years in Brentwood, Tennessee.

Joelle’s parents Bruce Hollinger (deceased) and Mary Hollinger (deceased) welcomed her home to heaven. Joelle attended St. Louis Family Church at 8am every Sunday on YouTube from her home in Tennessee – she loved Pastors Jeff and Patsy very much. Joelle also shared a special bond with her dear uncle, Father Jim Dougherty, whose wisdom, encouragement and humor shaped her inexpressible joy and humor. Joelle’s love extended to her siblings Pamela Hundley (husband Allan) in Florida, Catherine Hollinger (fiancé Jim Gerbershagen) in California, Michelle Oglesby (husband Jason) in Missouri, and Kevin Hollinger (wife Julie) in Missouri. But, Joelle’s true heart and prayers were for her nephews Macklin Parks (wife Abby, son Theo), Nick Hundley, and Noble and Lincoln Hollinger and her niece Cora Hollinger. Her ‘adopted sister,’
Mary Mosqueda and her family (husband Brian, son Noah and daughter Rachel), remained at her side for over 18 years and Joelle cherished every moment together with them.

Joelle had a knack for finding joy every day in her friendships and work without being defined by cancer or treatments – whether it was a very competitive game of pickleball, a lively conversation (often about pickleball pairings and ratings), sharing a meal at North Italia, Chuy’s or Pueblo, or simply soaking in the beauty of a Nashville sunset. She loved reading the book “The Story,” reading a daily devotional from Joel Osteen, watching Gutfeld’s monologue, going to Brandon Lake, Phil Wickham and Elevation Worship events or YouTube music videos or watching or attending pickleball tournaments. She loved her “angel in a white coat,” Dr. Shannon Serie, the incredible teams at Vanderbilt Cancer Center and the Cool Springs Infusion team, Dr. Tony and his staff at Hope for Cancer in Mexico, and both Lockton and Renaissance for always supporting her treatments and travel.

We will celebrate Joelle’s life in St. Louis, MO and in Brentwood, TN. Joelle’s St. Louis celebration will be held on Thursday, October 23 rd at Elk’s Lodge #9 at 12481 Ladue Rd, Creve Coeur, MO 63141 from 3pm-7pm. Joelle’s Brentwood celebration will be held on Saturday, October 25 th at Lockton at 340 Seven Springs Way, Suite 750, Brentwood, TN 37027 from 1pm- 4pm.

Until we meet again, Joelle, keep heaven laughing, let other people win now and then in a game of pickleball, and enjoy your conversations with Jesus that you always had with him in your prayer closet at home.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in her name to St. Louis Family Church for their online ministry Joelle used every week or Compassion International for sponsoring a young child in need. Both organizations reflect and promote Joelle’s generous heart and faith in Jesus.

    • Joelle was always so excited to tell me that she got you to play with us when she was in town. Even when she should have been beaten by life, she always was talking about our next tournament and when can we get a warmup match with “Pickleball Dave.”
