John Henry Hamilton – Age 90, of Pegram, and formerly of West Nashville, passed from this life on Friday, April 10, 2026, after an extended illness, at NHC Place @ The Trace.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Rose Barbee Hamilton; his wife, Barbara Tate Hamilton; his brothers, Charles, James, and Morris Hamilton; his sisters, Mary Harrison, Martha Comerci, Dorothy Hamilton, Frances Andrew, and Ella Ruth Davis; his sons, John Dale Hamilton and Tracy L. Hamilton.
John Henry is survived by his son, Richie (Kathy) Hamilton; daughters in laws, Angela Hamilton and Debbie Hamilton; grandchildren, Jessica (Ben) Wilson, Derrick (Chay) Hamilton, Kimberly Ann Hamilton, Donovan (Brittany) Hamilton; his great grandchildren, Miles Wilson, Lucas and Brooke Hamilton; and a host of extended family members and friends.
He dedicated more than 38 years of service to the Ford Glass Plant before retiring. A devoted fan of the University of Alabama, he found great joy in fishing and gardening, often sharing the fruits of his labor with family. Above all, he was a family man who cherished time spent with loved ones. He also enjoyed visits to the Old Trolley in West Nashville, a place that brought him much happiness.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at NHC Place at The Trace for the compassionate care they provided.
The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 11:30AM, at Western Hills Church, located at 7565 Charlotte Pike with Robert Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation with the Hamilton family will precede the service on Tuesday from 9:30am until 11: 30am at Western Hills Church.
