Leo Hudson Rahzi Louverture

11/22/24 – 4/26/25

Leo passed away on April 26, 2025, at home, surrounded by his mother, Jessie Louverture, and his father, Benjamin Louverture. Leo was loved every day by his family, including his big brother, Ben.

Leo began having seizures at 5 weeks old and received a terminal diagnosis of an extremely rare genetic condition shortly after. While his time on earth was brief, Leo’s life was lived to the fullest. He was loved by countless family and friends who made every moment with him count. He brought joy to everyone who knew him, and even in his death brought hope, giving the gift of life through heart valve and tissue donation and contributed to life-saving research that will help other children facing the same condition, to which there is currently no treatment.

The family would like to include a special thank you to the Alive Hospice team and Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, including Dr. Carson, Dr. Ibach, and all the incredible nurses who provided so much support, kindness, and love to Leo and his family during their time there.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you bring a toy or children’s book to the service, which will be donated to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Leo’s memory. For an idea of items needed, here is a list of the highest priority needs currently: https://tinyurl.com/VanderbiltNeeds

The funeral is open to the public and will be held on Saturday, May 3, at 6:30 PM at Hermitage Church of the Nazarene, located at 4151 Saundersville Road, Old Hickory, TN 37138.

Guestbook

  1. Ben and Jess, although this is not a time to celebrate, I am happy for the time you were able to spend with Leo. Your love and compassion toward him radiated through his being each time I saw him. You brought love and peace to his existence and he was more than blessed to have you both for his parents. May you find comfort in our candle (Matthew and Aiesha) and know that we are here to support and shower you both with love during this time. In our prayers always. Love you both!

  2. May God continue to bless you both and your family. Leo will forever be in our hearts and we love him. Thank you sharing your life with us with him. God bless you all.

  5. Life, a big road with lots of signs. Sometimes, there is no why and if there is, we don’t always know it. Just keep living as Leo will in our hearts.

I wish the Louverture family enough in this time of immense loss…  enough of whatever you need. I know your little angel remains with you in spirit, forever and always.

    My deepest condolences

    Love,
    Monique W
