Margaret (Peg) Salsman Thompson, 87, of Nashville, passed away peacefully on Mother’s Day, May 11, 2025, at Abe’s Garden Community. She was a St. Henry Catholic Church member, volunteered with Loaves and Fishes, and was active in the Cursillo Movement for many years. She was a realtor and retired from Fridrich & Clark Realty to spend time with her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. She was born on May 13, 1937, the daughter of John Edgar & Mary Leona Berry Salsman of Loretto, KY.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, William Francis Thompson; brothers John Edgar, John Wesley, Joseph Daniel, and John Edgar II, David Leon, John Bruce, Charles Robert; and her sisters Nancy Mercedes Salsman, Hilda Salsman, Shirley Cambron, Rita Willett, Peddie Farley, Mary Leona Evans, and Donna Ann Thompson.
She is survived by her daughter, Leigh Ann (Doug) McInnis; son, Donnie (Alicia) Thompson; grandchildren, Douglas (Samantha) McInnis, Kathleen McInnis, William McInnis, Jackson Thompson; and her cherished brother, William Richard (Carolyn) Salsman of Bardstown, Kentucky.
Peg loved to quilt, garden, solve crossword puzzles, and read. She was also an avid fan of Kentucky Wildcat basketball. Peg was fondly known by many as Monyer. She was a wonderful mother and friend to many during her lifetime. She was a supportive, loving, and willing listener whenever needed. However, her first passion in life and her greatest source of pride was her family. She always held them close to her heart and brought great joy to their lives, now and always.
Special thanks to Alive Hospice and Abe’s Garden Community for their support and compassion. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Peg’s life on Friday, May 30, at St. Henry Catholic Church, 6401 Harding Pike, Nashville, TN 37205. Visitation begins at 10:00 am, with the Funeral Mass to follow at noon.

I loved Peg, we had a lot of good times, she, Donny, Gary and I together. I know she’s at peace looking down on all that she loved. Rest in peace my friend.
