Martha Jane Mock passed away gently and quietly at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee, on Saturday, October 11, 2025.  Jane was 88.

Jane had a kind and gentle nature and was loved by all.  She was known by many names: “Mom”, “Memaw”, and “Meme.”  Jane loved to paint, and had a passion for puzzles, and playing or teaching Mahjong.  She was a parishioner at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Nashville.

Jane was born in Bluffton, Georgia, in 1937.  After graduating from Edison High School, she received a degree in Medical Technology from Georgia Southwestern College and became an accomplished cytotechnologist.

Jane is preceded in death by her husband, Harmon “Rodie” Mock.  She is survived by her children: Steven (LeAnn), Suzanne Davis (Robert), and Spencer (Amie), 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and her sister, Sue Pritchett (Mary).

Receiving of friends will be on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 pm in the pavilion at Harpeth Hills Cemetery, located at 9090 Hwy 100.  The graveside service will follow at 12:30 pm.

  1. Jane was a kind and loving person. She had a great sense of humor and I was blessed to spend time with her many times. I will miss our talks on the phone and our times visiting together. Sending hugs and prayers to all the children, grands, greatgrands, to Sweet Sue and Mary.! I love each of you and will keep you lifted in prayer!
