Born in: Port Arthur, Texas
Resided in: Burns, Tennessee

Ralph J. Savoie – Age 94, of Burns, passed from this life and entered Glory on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, after injuries he sustained in an automobile accident.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 72 1/2 years, Billie G. Savoie; his parents and his six siblings.

Ralph is survived by his daughter, Debby (Tom) Scott, of Burns, TN; son, Kerry (Cathy) Savoie, of Beaumont, TX; her grandchildren, Ryan Scott (Mandy) of Columbia, TN; Jonathan Savoie (Jennifer) of Beaumont, TX; Catherine Fontana (Nick) of Beaumont, TX; Rachel Farmer (Joshua) of Nashville, TN; and Kellie Fontana, of Beaumont, TX; 12 great grandchildren; and a host of extended family members.

Ralph gave his life to the lord as a young boy and spent the rest of his life showing the love and joy of Jesus. He loved his bride of 72 years Billie Grace, his 2 children, 5 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.  He was a consummate coffee drinker, joke teller, southern gospel quartet lover that loved to make gumbo for his family and friends.

Ralph so enjoyed his opportunity to play the stand up bass at church any chance he had. He would greet you with a smile and made you feel like a close friend, because you were to him.  He was generous and encouraging and prayer warrior like no other!  He always let the preacher know he was backing him, “Oh Glory.” Even at 94 years old, he was still running the aisles waving his white hanky. He loved being in the house of the lord.

Ralph loved his country, evidenced by his service in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the American legion in Fairview, TN

He will be greatly missed by all that knew him and loved him.  We will see you on the other side of Jordan.

A service to celebrate Ralph’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 11AM, at First United Pentecostal Church, located at 7512 Charlotte Pike with Bishop Ron Becton and Pastor Roy Duke officiating. A private family burial with military honors will be held at Middle TN Veterans Cemetery, next to his wife Billie. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

  1. Mr Ralph was my neighbor in Sycamore Ridge. We used to tease about our clandestine meetings at the mailbox. We shared many laughs and good wishes. It was an honor and a blessing to know him. What a wonderful Christian man. I am so sorry for your loss. Our loss is heaven’s gain. I keep your family in my prayers.

  2. I am so sorry for your loss. I wish I had the words to say, but I don’t. Just know my prayers are with the family and know that he is rejoicing in Heaven with Jesus and waving that hanky around! He was such a Godly man and his worship was so amazing to see.

We won’t be able to attend the funeral due to being out of town but just know our hearts are with you.

    Much love!

  3. What a wonderful God fearing man Bro Savoie was. I recall many many times how faithful he was to church & as he came & played his Bass Fiddle at church. His love for his family & church. His was faithful.
To his family, my sincere condolences.
