Raymond "Ray" Price Newman

Raymond “Ray” Price Newman – age 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 14, 2025, in Murfreesboro, TN.

Mr. Newman is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Betty J. Newman; sons, Ricky Newman (Annette), Timmy Newman (Joni); grandchildren, Christina Newman, Deedee Williams (David), Zack Newman (Morgan), Lexie Newman, Karli Newman; great-grandchildren, Destin Waldron, Madison, Whitney, Payton Whitney, Trinity Newman, Mason Williams, Hunter Williams, Scarlette Newman, Logan Cooper, great-greatgrandchildren, Kaiden Waldron, Levi Waldron; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Ray was a lifelong resident of Rutherford Co.  He worked and retired from Roadway Express after 25 years of service.  His greatest joy in life was spending time with this family and especially his grandchildren.  Ray was always a people person, and you could often see him at Waffle House hanging with his friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation at La Vergne Church of Christ, 244 Old Nashville, Hwy, La Vergne, TN 37086 on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Friday, September 19th, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

A Graveside Service will be held 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Murfreesboro, TN with Bro. Josh Pappas officiating.

Pallbearers include: Timmy Newman, Ricky Newman, Ryan Makin, Gary Riddle, Zack Newman, David Williams, Brandon Cooper and Michael Irvin.

Honorary Pallbearers include: Don Parker and Bob Glennon.
