Ruth “Scottie” Hoffman Rodgers Howard Williams

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother passed away on November 5, 2025. Scottie was raised in Rockford, Il, and graduated from The University of
Michigan. She married Robert B. Rodgers and moved to Nashville, TN where she gave piano lessons for over 35 years. In 1981 Scottie married Mort D. Howard who died in 1990. In 1993 she married Dr. George E. Williams and moved to Saginaw, MI. George preceded Scottie in death.

Scottie was also preceded in death by her parents Dr. Arthur and Mildred Hoffman, son Robert B. Rodgers Jr., two brothers, Lawrence (Angela) Hoffman, and Dr. Richard Hoffman, a sister Doris (Les) Grover, stepdaughter Patricia (Chuck) Brooks and sons- in-law Mark Coppedge and Denny Sutfin.

She is survived by her children Wendy Coppedge of Dallas, TX, Debbie Murrey (Eddie) of Brentwood, TN and Rick Rodgers (Melissa) of College Grove, TN and daughter-in- law Jennifer Rodgers of Bradenton, FL. She is also survived by stepchildren Bart Howard of Dickson, TN, Beth Wisler (David) of Cincinnati, OH, Kim (Glen) Frazier of Dickson, TN, Dale Sutfin and Kerry Hayes (Clark) of Saginaw, MI, Scott (Patti) Williams and Jody (Ken) Berg of Traverse City, MI, numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service on what would have been her 100 th birthday will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 2:00 pm with visitation starting at 1:00 pm at West End United Methodist Church in Nashville, TN. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society 404 BNA Drive, Suite 102, Nashville, TN 37217 or charity of your choice.
