Dorothy F. "Dottie" Campbell

With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the passing of Dorothy “Dottie” F. Campbell (nee Partiss) who peacefully departed this life after a short illness. She was surrounded by love, reflecting the kindness she so effortlessly shared throughout her life.

Dottie was born in Freeport, New York, where she grew up and began a life filled with love, compassion, dedication, and service to others.

Dottie met the love her of her life, Richard “Rich” Campbell, whom she married in February of 1964 Their bond was one of enduring devotion filled with love, laughter and an unwavering partnership. Together they built a life rooted in faith, service, and the simple joys of family. Even as she raised her two beloved children, Dottie remained steadfast in her calling to care for others and pursued her passion for nursing, earning a degree from Stony Brook University.

In 1998, she and Rich moved to Tennesse, where she found her calling at Alive Hospice. Her 23 years of service, including the challenging years of the HIV epidemic was a testament to her profound compassion, unyielding strength, and commitment to kindness.

After retiring, Dottie continued to serve her community as the Parish Nurse at Brentwood United Methodist Church, where she remained a source of comfort and guidance until her passing.

She was devoted wife, a loving mother, mother-in-law, a proud grandmother, and nurturing friend. Every event, big or small, was made special by her presence- her warmth, wisdom, and ability to make everyone feel cherished and valued.

Dottie leaves behind her beloved husband, Rich; her cherished daughters, Lisa (Randy) Johnston, and Jodi Campbell (Brian); her treasured grandchildren, Paige (Matt), Alexis (Griffin), Anthony, Grace, Mia, Corey, and Jessie. She is also survived by her dear sister, Jill Krusell; sister-in-law, Annette Crickenberger, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Dorothy and Leonard Partiss Sr., and her brother, Leonard Partiss Jr.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Alive Hospice and Mountain T.O.P., continuing the work that was so close to her heart.

Visitation with the Campbell family will be held on Friday, June 27th from 10AM until 11AM. The Celebration of Life and Resurrection will follow at 11AM, all at Brentwood United Methodist Church. The Joyful Noise Sunday School class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
