Alice Elizabeth Rowe

Alice Elizabeth “Beth” Rowe had a laugh so full of life that those who heard it wanted to hold onto it forever. She is remembered for her warmth, her humor, and her genuine love of people.

Beth was born on April 22, 1957, and grew up in Decatur, AL, and Montgomery, AL.
She peacefully passed from this life on July 1, 2026.

Her life was shaped by a deep love of family and a curiosity about the world. She earned her bachelor’s degree in education at Auburn University — War Eagle — and her master’s in educational psychology at the University of Connecticut.

Beth’s career began in Phenix City, Alabama, where she taught first grade. She went on to teach for the Department of Defense Dependents’ Schools in Germany and the elementary school at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York.

Beth was a member of the Palatinate Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a tribute to her lifelong passion for history and heritage. Among her most cherished memories were summers spent with her father traveling to visit family and exploring her genealogy with him.

Faith was a cornerstone of Beth’s life woven into every chapter of her journey. She worshipped for many years with congregations in Bitburg, Germany, and the West Point Church in West Point, New York. As a member of the Church of Christ in Green Hills in Nashville, Tennessee, Beth found a haven of love, support, and belonging, particularly among the women of the church who meant so much to her.

Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bobbie Rowe, and her only brother, Greg Rowe. She is survived by her nephew, Derek Rowe, and his wife, Lindsey, as well as her beloved cousins who have been one of the greatest blessings of her life.

Beth Rowe was a teacher, an adventurer, a faithful friend, and a keeper of history. And that laugh — warm, genuine, and unforgettable — was the sound of a life well and joyfully lived.

A celebration of Beth’s remarkable life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM CDT. Visitation and a slide show of her life will begin at 10:00 AM. Live-streaming will begin at 10:00 on the church’s YouTube channel – @cocgh.

In lieu of flowers, Beth would ask that you volunteer or donate to your favorite charity. Among her favorites are Healing Hands International and the Church of Christ in Green Hills — two communities of service and faith.
