Brandt Howard Johnson, a minister and salesman for Nashville Steel Corporation, died on February 9 th ,
2024 at the age of 70 while in his apartment in Nashville, TN.

Brandt is survived by his siblings and their children: brothers Okey Johnson (Kathy; children Tim and
Colin) and Rick Johnson (Lisa; children Phillip and Morgan), and sister Joyce Johnson (children Lisa, Matt,
Anna, Margaret); also by his children: Karen Boots (Shad), Brandt Jared Johnson (Keiko), and Bethany
Johnson; and his grandchildren Kaden, Zaeda, and Nevaeh. He is predeceased by his father Okey B.
Johnson and his mother Joyce L. Johnson.

Brandt was born in Nashville on October 24 th , 1953. He attended Memphis University on a golf
scholarship, and later enlisted in the Navy. He was awarded the National Defense Medal and First Good
Conduct Award. He was discharged in January of 1977 due to injuries. After serving in the Navy, he
joined Nashville Steel Corporation, founded by his parents, and was their top steel salesman.

Brandt was a loving father, brother, and friend. He enjoyed playing golf, guitar and singing. He
became a minister in the 1990’s and loved studying God’s word. For several years, he ministered at The
Village of Bellevue, which brought him great joy. He was skilled in mathematics, sales, and problem-
solving, and his memory and mind were extremely sharp. He loved God, his family, and his friends. He
will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A brief military service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 28th at the Middle Tennessee
Veterans Cemetery on McCrory Lane in Nashville, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations
be made to Supporting Israel (jhm.org/donate), a cause and organization Brandt felt strongly about.
