My condolences to a dear friend of mine, Cathy, RIP my friend. Take care all the lonely pups in dog heaven❤️🙏🏽
Cathy was like the sister I never had. As next door neighbors, we were playing together before we even started kindergarten at Mrs. Gossett’s, all through Woodmont Grammar school. In first grade, Mrs. Elsey was frequently sending us to the cloak closet for talking. Not sure how much good it did, keeping us together, as we still were whispering. We spent many hours riding our bikes, going to Saturday afternoon movies at the Belle Meade Theater, riding neighbors’ horses, or, playing records on Cathy’s record player, listening to Pat Boone or Ricky Nelson. And we, along with so many other neighborhood kids, spent hours at the Henderson, playing lots of games. I am so very thankful that I was blessed to be able to spend time with Cathy before here passing, and, we, she and I, reminisced about many of these very childhood times. I loved her, my friend, all my life. So thankful she was a big part of it. Truly a gift to all who knew her.
Cathi’s parents were friends of my parents, Pattie & Charlie Byrn, & her Brother Buzz was childhood friend of my brother, Charlie, whom we lost so many yrs ago on Thanksgiving Day 1967. While I haven’t lived in Nashville much since I went away to school, I would run into Cathi when I was there visiting my Mother, Pattie — I think our families went all the way back to Parmer. I know she’ll be a great loss to her family. My sincerest sympathy, Patricia French Byrn Litow (Santa Monica CA)
