Charles Edward Clark, Jr.

June 18, 1957 – July 19, 2024

Charles Edward “Chuck” Clark, Jr., 67, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on July 19, 2024. Born on June 18, 1957, in Loveland, CO, he was the son of the late Charles and Delma (Harlow) Clark.

Charles was preceded in death by his siblings Michael Charles Clark, Joann Faye Blair, and Gary Dean Clark. He is survived by his partner Rosalina Rodriguez, his sister Debra Ison, his son Chris A. Clark, his daughter Stephanie D. Pridgen, and several grandchildren.

Chuck enjoyed life through the pursuit of several hobbies, including fishing, hunting, swimming, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his beloved dog.  He had a keen intellect and was mechanically gifted, with an ability to provide solutions to many problems.

His professional journey began in the 1970s when he worked for General Motors. Following the birth of his son, Chuck moved his family to Aiken, SC, and began working at the Beloit-Manhattan paper plant. In the late 1980s, he transitioned to a role as a mechanical contractor with Bob Ray and Associates, Inc. This position took him across the United States, Mexico, and Europe, supervising the construction of machines and the implementation of various processes.  Chuck left Bob Ray and Associates in the early 2000s and took a position with Smith & Wesson in Springfield, MA.  In this role, he was responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of machines manufacturing firearms.  Chuck was passionate about his work and pursued excellence throughout his career.

Some of Chuck’s notable projects included the installation of the printing press for the Charlotte Observer, the printing press at the United States Mint – Bureau of Engraving and Printing, and updates to the shuttle external fuel tank manufacturing machinery at NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility.  He also oversaw the implementation of the assembly line machinery during the construction of the Caterpillar plants in Lafayette, IN and Mexico.

Chuck will be missed by his family and his friends.

A private memorial service will be held in Aiken, SC.
