Diane Leigh O’Berry, age 65, of Lobelville, TN, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Ascension St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Evelyn “Tini” O’Berry and nephew Chizum Beau O’Berry, all of Virginia.

She is survived by her brothers, Brad and Bert O’Berry of Virginia, nephew Caolan O’Berry and special friend, Eddie Houston of Nashville, Tennessee; fur babies, Shadow, Blue, Lady, Caleigh, Prissy, Nosey and Barncat.

Diane was born in Petersburg, Virginia and attended Hopewell High School.  She joined the Coast Guard before moving to Nashville where she later made her home on Crooked Creek in Lobelville, Tennessee. She loved being outdoors in the quiet peaceful countryside.  She showed off her green thumb with her flowers and especially her cactus plants.  She also enjoyed rock hunting and fishing in her spare time and taking her fur baby, Lady, to play in the creek.  She loved just chilling with her horses and any other animals that might be around.  She rescued and loved so many animals over the years.  Her pets were like family to her, and she spent every moment she could taking care of them.  Diane had a tender caring heart, not only for pets, but for anyone who needed help.

  1. Diane is missed so much already!!! She was always a great friend and went above and beyond to help me!! She is a peace now…pain free and breathing without a struggle and loving on Bella, Ginger and her furbabies that were waiting across rainbow bridge!! As Samantha always said Catch ya on the Flipside!!!

  2. Diane was my sister in-law and Aunt to my two sons, Chizum Beau who was born on her birthday and Caolan P O’Berry. She was a kind and compassionate woman who will be missed by many.

  3. Diane was always willing to help people with a project or to watch a fur baby. She was my friend and I will miss her especially when I go down on the creek. Rest well.

  4. So many great times with Diane. From riding on Fred’s pontoon to a Willie Nelson concert, to my baby showers.. She was such a great lady who loved animals and being in nature. I will cherish our many times and conversations together.
