Donald Ray Fuqua

Donald Ray Fuqua- Age 72, of Nashville, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Alive Hospice.

He is preceded in by his father, Earl Fuqua and mother, Lillian Fuqua; his brother, Ronnie Brown.

Donald is survived by his wife of 53 years, Brenda Register Fuqua; son, Barry (Jennifer) Fuqua; daughter, Katrina (Danny) Woodard; he was lovingly known as G-Dad by his grandchildren, Daxton Woodard and Paizlee Woodard; brothers, Robert (Patrick) Fuqua; Kenneth Fuqua; Ronnie (Anita) Fuqua, and Tim (Lisa) Fuqua; sisters, Linda Ruff, Brenda Howell, and Lynn Lay; and a host of extended family members and friends.

He retired from the Metro Fire Department after 36 years of service. He enjoyed being thrifty and was known as the “coupon king”. He was an avid game show watcher. Donald loved to soak in the sun and enjoyed trips to the beach. He was known for being a great cook in the fire hall.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kathleen, Nikki, and Pooh for their special care, kindness and love given to Donald and the entire family during this journey.

Visitation with the Fuqua family will be on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, from 2PM until 6PM. The funeral service will follow at 6PM, all at Western Hills Church, located at 7565 Charlotte Pike (Nashville Christian Campus) with Brother Hubert Cunningham officiating. Interment will take place on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at 11AM, at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens (Chapel Hill East)

Flowers will be accepted at the church on Tuesday after 12PM.
