Mrs. Ethel Ann Davis- Age 90, was called into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 16, 2023. Ann, as she was known to family and friends, was born on Saturday, November 5, 1932, in Lauderdale, County Alabama to Torris Stancel (Jack) and Mary Haney White who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Torris Stancel White, Jr., and her beloved husband, James H. Davis. She is survived by sons, Jack W. Davis (Joyce), Jim Davis (Cindy), daughter, Pam Davis Shumate (David), and special niece, Debbie Gyure (Mike). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jill Spicer, Jonathan Davis, Brandon Davis, Ethan Davis, Dana McDowell, Jason Boyd, Justin Boyd, Ashley Fisher, Amanda Gasser, and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren, as well as her fur baby and constant companion, Cuddles. She was a lifelong resident of West Nashville, and a thirty plus year employee of Collins and Aikman Manufacturing from which she retired at age 70. She was a member of First Southern Methodist Church where she remained active and regular in her attendance until declining health made it difficult for her to continue. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, January 20, 2023, at 12:30PM, at First Southern Methodist Church (4409 Colorado Avenue, Nashville, TN 37209). Also at the church, visitation will be on Thursday from 4PM until 7PM, and again on Friday from 11AM until the service time at 12:30PM. The service will be officiated by her son, Pastor Jack Davis. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The burial will follow the service at Harpeth Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to First Southern Methodist Church, 4409 Colorado Avenue, Nashville, TN 37209. Flowers may be delivered to Compassion Funeral & Cremation Services, 6949 Charlotte Pike, Suite 104 on Thursday between 9AM and 2PM, after those hours, the flowers should be delivered to the church.
