Gary G. Jakes- Age 72, of Donelson, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Tristar Summit Medical Center. He is survived his loving companion of 24 years, Darlene Ashbrook; his cousins, Dwight Ethridge, Michelle Mays, Mark Harris, Becky Trotter, Kay Tolley, Wayne Hunter, Robert Hunter, Glen Hunter, Ray Hunter, and Doris Faircloth; second cousin, Sarah Mays and extended family members and friends. Gary was currently employed with Midwest Logistics. He loved to play golf and enjoyed playing music. Gary also loved his little furry companion, "Petee”, who is lost without him. A graveside service to celebrate Gary's life will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023, at 3PM, at Woodlawn Memorial Park (Garden of Resthaven). Gary (Jakes) was the name we knew him by, was a great friend to my brother in law, Jerry Johnson who is also deceased now. I am sorry for his family and pray for your peace in this hour of need.
I was proud to have Gary as a cousin. He was always fun to be around and had a huge heart. He will be sorely missed.
Jake the snake is what we called him in west Nashville in the mid 80s always playing his harmonica n doing a fabulous job at it He was a really good guy
