Helen Hinson McDonald Helen Hinson McDonald, age 91, died on January 2, 2023. She was born August 1, 1931, to the late Everette and Hazel Hinson in Hohenwald, Tennessee. She graduated from Lewis County High School in 1949 and attended Columbia Business College. In 1951, she moved to Nashville to work at Third National Bank where she met her future husband, William E. (Willie) McDonald. They married on September 3, 1953, and moved to the Donelson area in 1955, where they were well connected with the community over many years. Helen is survived by her husband of 69 years, Willie; sons Bill and Bob (Susan); grandchildren Elizabeth McDonald (Chris) Collins of Signal Mountain, TN, Catherine McDonald (Andrew) Tuck, Caroline McDonald (Allan) Griswold of Brooklyn, NY, Robert McDonald, Jr. (Mallory Shults), Michael (Kate) McDonald; and great-grandchildren Claire, Hal, & Frank Collins and Bennett, Graham, & Elliott Tuck. Helen is also survived by her sister, Barbara Joyce Hinson of Hohenwald, TN and her sisters-in-law Anna Rose McDonald Warren and Joan Hinson of Fayetteville, TN. She was preceded in death by her brother Earl Hinson. Other survivors include her 19 McDonald nieces and nephews and her niece, Beth Hinson of Fayetteville, TN and nephew Neal (Mary) Hinson of Brentwood, TN. Helen was an active member of Donelson Presbyterian Church since 1973 along with membership in the Stones River Woman’s Club since 1969 and the Ladies Hermitage Association. She enjoyed playing tennis with her long-time tennis groups for many years at Ravenwood Country Club, Donelson Tennis Center, and NALTA. Her life was fully devoted to the love and support of her family - - Willie’s business and community endeavors, and her sons’ school and sports activities. Visitation with the family will be at Donelson Presbyterian Church on Sunday, January 8, 2023, from 1:00pm-4:00 pm with a Memorial Service at 4:00 pm.   4. Mrs. Helen was one of the finest people I’ve ever known. She and Willie were always the epitome of kindness and graciousness. I also was honored to be able to teach Bob and Bill at Goodpasture. They were/are also two of the finest.
