Hilda Gay Fisher Hooker was born February 28,1939 in Nashville, Tennessee and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 3, 2024. Gay is survived by one sister, Betty Hughes, three children, Wilma Williams (David), Wanda Morton (Kenny) and Roger Hooker (Donna), three grandchildren, Crystal Reed, Ronnie Hooker (Madison) and Bobby Hooker. She was preceded in death by her parents, HV and Myrtle Fisher, two brothers, Wayne, and Ronnie Fisher and one Great Granddaughter, Alicia Faith Morris.

She was known as Gay to all those around her.  A graduate of Bellevue High School where she played basketball all four years.  After High School, and while raising a family, she worked as an Administrative Assistant for many years for Petroleum Equipment Company and later retiring from Seltman Cobb & Bryant Computer Technology Inc.

She was a member and treasurer of the Nashville Baptist Bowling Association for many years. On Friday nights, for over 50 years, you would always find Gay doing what she loved and that was bowling. Over the years, she won numerous first-place trophies.

Another love of Gay’s was playing the piano.  She learned to play at the age of nine and played piano for over 50 years at Charlotte Road Baptist Church, as well as many weddings and funerals throughout the years.  She even played piano at a local nursing home a couple of weeks prior to her death.

She was a humble servant and always quietly helping someone in need. She will be missed by many.
