James Jefferson "Jimmy" Duke

James Jefferson Duke “Jimmy” Age 74, of Pegram, passed from this life on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at St. Thomas Midtown, after an extended illness.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Betty, Linda, Mary Ann and Douglas; and his grandson, Wayne King.
He is survived by loving wife of 49 years, Ruby Thompson Duke; children, Jamie Duke; Teresa Duke, James Duke, Jr., and Trudy Duncan; his grandchildren, Chastity, Jessica, Sarah, Stuart, and Camara; 6 great grandchildren.
Jimmy was a lover of antique cars and collected several throughout his life. He enjoyed camping and traveling and enjoyed being a mechanic.
A Celebration of his life will be on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 11:30am, at Western Hills Church (7565 Charlotte Pike) with David Estes officiating. Interment will follow in the garden of Atonement at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Family will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation with the family will be on Thursday from 4PM until 7PM, and again on Friday from 10:30AM until the service time at 11:30AM, all at Western Hills Church.

Jimmy worked at Piedmont Gas in the garage. He was a great mechanic and a great fellow. I always enjoyed his company and his many stories. May he rest in peace.
He was the best person you could have ever met. He was kind,loving,he was the funniest person you would have ever met.
