james michael bixler
James“Mike” Michael Bixler Sr. was born on September 30th of 1949 in Madison Tn. He is proceeded in death by his parents James Wallace Bixler, Louise McCrary, Brother Ricky Bixler, and Sister Tammy McClendon. He is survived by his Loving wife Terri Lee Bixler, Sister Linda (Eddie) Bush, Children Michael (Brittany) Bixler and Tracy (Michael) Cole. 8 Grandchildren, Nicole, Hailee, Tyler, Hannah, Sydnee, Dallas, Harleigh, and Chloeigh. 4 great grandchildren, Haven, Maisley, Demi, and Ariel. Mike was a very hard-working man. He worked for Bridgestone in Smyrna for 35 years, where he retired from in 2009. After retirement he enjoyed riding his Harley, Traveling, and most of all spending quality time with family. On Saturdays you could always catch him kicked back in his chair watching his Vanderbilt Commodores play football. Pretty sure the whole neighborhood could hear him yelling lol He enjoyed being out in his garage working on things with a little Rod Stewart in the background. Mike was always a call away if you needed him no matter what. He had a heart like no other and was kind to everyone he met. If you were around Mike at any time, he was guaranteed to make you laugh. Mikes first and foremost priority was his family. Mike has always been there for his Wife, children, and grandchildren in whatever way he could be. He was very devoted to his family and being a pawpaw. Mike had nicknames for all 8 grandchildren and never called them by their real names lol Mike and Terri were married for 48 wonderful years. They had a love that many dreamed and wished for, like something out of a movie. Mike battled COPD for over 10 years, along with skin cancer, and lung cancer. Terri never left his side and was an amazing care giver. Mike knew if Terri was by his side, he was going to be just fine, and that’s exactly where she was until his last breath. Mike will be missed by so many, especially the light, love, and laughter he brought to so many. A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 26, 2022, at Christiana Miller Cemetery in Christiana, TN with Jeff Adcock officiating. The family has set up a GoFundMe account to help with funeral expenses. https://www.gofundme.com/f/mike-bixler?qid=b797db29f848f5b78eb59c0b1127dc74 They appreciate your support during this difficult time.
