Johnathan Wayne Matheny Sr- Age 38, passed away on the morning of August 20th, 2022. A private memorial will be held Friday August 26th, 2022, and a celebration of life will be held at a later time. Johnathan “John Wayne” Matheny was a father, a son, a nephew, uncle, cousin and husband. He was an avid mechanic, fisherman, and lover of nature. Preceded in death by great grandmother, “mawmaw” Allena Shaw; grandmother “nanna” Dianne Kincaid; grandfather, Jerry W. Matheny Sr., son, Jaime Whalen; cousin and best friend, Little Stephen Matheny. Survived by father, “Chuck” Jerry W. Matheny Jr., mother, Serena Matheny; mother, Cindy Matheny; spouse, Bekah Matheny; uncle, Stephen Matheny; aunt, Janice Matheny; aunt, “Ween” Delene Holbrook; aunt, Amiee Holbrook Moore; uncle, Jason Matheny; brothers, David Matheny, “JD” Jerry D. Matheny, Jeff Matheny; children, Kelton Matheny, Johnathan W. Matheny Jr., Kelsie Matheny, Joseph Matheny, Hailey Matheny, Chevy Dubois, and longtime friends and companions Kristy Thompson, Hillary Greer Whalen, Kayla Dubois and numerous others. I knew Jonathan as a neighbor and friend . The kind of guy that would give you the shirt off of his back . He has shown up to my house to help me fix my truck at 10 pm just to help me out . We just found out about his untimely passing and are in shock , but mostly we pray for his children , wife , and all those that love him . May the Lord bless you all .
Q: Did Jonathan have any pets? A: Axel Rose was is rode dog, his boy, our only son together… as I give him a big steak like you used to do… I smile and always remember what you said about if you put axel and a woman in a trunk for a few hours who you think would be happy to see you 😆 🤣 I laughed til I cried 😆. He misses you we all do. I love you babe Always and forever Yours always bekah
John bought tools from my husband. Every time we came to the hydraulic shop he always made sure to give me a hug and ask how I was doing. He introduced me to his girlfriend Bekah. He always sent me the most interesting pictures. He is missed.
Chevy Dubois is not his son
You know, it has almost been 2 years since my father past. He was always the accepting sort. To everyone else, he made sure to introduce me as his son. But we both knew that despite everything, I would always be his little girl. First time I saw him cry was when I played a song in the car (daughter by Ryan Cassata). He cared about me no matter what and made sure I knew that. It’s still hard without him. But you know, he would’ve wanted me to grieve and move on.
Never really met him heard good about him. But I love him
