Joseph “Joe” Paul Franklin Sr., 44, of West Nashville, passed away unexpectedly on August 20, 2026.

Joe was a man who was deeply loved by his family and those who had the privilege of knowing him. To know Joe was to love him. He was a hardworking, caring, and family-oriented man who always put the people he loved first. Joe was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it, never hesitating to help someone he cared about.

Joe always dreamed of one day owning his own construction business. He was proud of the work he did and dreamed of building something of his own that he could pass down to his family.

Joe is survived by his mother, Schwanda Foriest, and was preceded in death by his father, Paul Franklin, his brother, Tommy Franklin Sr., and Ruth Franklin.

He leaves behind his beloved children: Austin Lee Paul Franklin (Janessa), Daitona Albrianna Franklin (Jeremy), Joseph Paul Franklin Jr., Jace Earps, and Marissa Earps, as well as his grandson, Jeremy Earps Jr.

Joe is also survived by his siblings, Jamie Foriest Arciniega (Jose), Lisa Franklin and Tink Jackson, Michelle Williams, James Foriest, Beth Franklin, and Benny Franklin.

He leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish his memory, along with the mothers of his children, Shannon Earps, Jessica Williams, Chasity Boner, and his partner PJ Demumbreum.

Joe will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love for his family, his generous heart, and the way he cared for the people around him. Though his life was not always easy, the love he had for his family was something that remained a part of who he was.

His memory will live on through his children, grandson, family, and all those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
