Joseph (Joe) W. Leahy

Joseph (Joe) W Leahy, 80, of Nashville TN, passed away peacefully on June 25th, 2023, following a battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jeanette Leahy, daughters Brooke (Andy) Wilson and Kate (Mark) Dailey, and grandchildren, Caleb, Lucy and Joshua Wilson and Harper and Wyatt Dailey, all in the Nashville area. Also, survived by his younger brothers Jim Leahy of Fredericksburg, VA and Chris Leahy of Milton, MA. A Celebration of Life will be held for Joe on September 3rd at Gaylord Springs Golf Course from 3p-5p, followed immediately after by a nine-hole golf scramble in Joe’s Honor. Joe was born in Boston, MA in 1943 to Dorothy and Joseph W Leahy Sr. Joe graduated from Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree, MA in 1960. He then attended Wentworth Tech and Lowell Tech before joining the US Army and fighting for our country in the Vietnam War. After serving four years in the US Army, Joe attended Loras College and graduated Cum Laude in 1973. He worked for the US Postal Service as a Labor Relations Rep for the majority of his career and retired after 35 years. Joe spent his retirement between Ft. Myers, FL at Kelly Greens Golf and Country Club and Nashville, TN where he could be found at Gaylord Springs or Two Rivers golf courses most days of the week. The family would like to encourage friends to wear orange to the celebration of life and graveside burial.

We had the pleasure of sharing Joe’s birthday each year with Joe and Jeanette. They stayed with us on their way to Boston to see family. He enriched everyone’s life. Such a loss. Our love, peg and Tim Russell
