It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we share the passing of Lance René Maurice, a devoted husband, father, and friend, on June 8th, 2024. Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, California, Lance brought his unique spark to everyone he met and every endeavor he pursued.
Lance had a lifelong passion for cars and motorcycles. In his youth, you could often find him in the garage, sleeves rolled up, tinkering with engines and rebuilding motorcycles. His ability to cobble together pieces from various broken things to create one perfect machine was nothing short of magical. He saw potential in everything and everyone, and this gift for seeing the extraordinary in the ordinary is something he passed on to his family and all who knew him.
Lance shared a beautiful and enduring love story with his wife, Sue Maurice. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and four wonderful daughters: Sara, Jenna, Deanna, and Christa, and then three energetic grandsons: Owen, Samuel, and Silas. Lance’s love for his family was expressed through his actions–he was always there to lend a hand, offer support, and share his knowledge. His actions spoke volumes, and his presence was a constant source of strength and comfort.
When Lance and Sue moved into their current home in Spring Hill, TN, the yard was a blank canvas-a barren place without a single tree. Lance, with his green thumb and vision, transformed it into a natural oasis. He rooted trees from clippings taken from his beloved previous yard, creating a lush sanctuary for his family to enjoy. This garden, like so much of what Lance touched, is a living testament to his hard work, creativity, and love.
Lance was a lifelong learner, always curious about how things worked and eager to acquire new skills. This passion for knowledge and innovation is a legacy he leaves behind, inspiring his family and friends to never stop exploring and learning.
Lance’s warm heart and generous spirit touched many lives, and he will be terribly missed by all who knew him, especially his beloved family. His life was a testament to love, dedication, and the joy of creating something beautiful from the simplest of beginnings.
Lance Rene Maurice is survived by his loving wife, Sue; his four daughters, Sara, Jenna, Deanna, and Christa, and a community of friends and family who will forever hold him in their hearts.

I worked with Lance at the Saturn plant. He was a great man who absolutely loved his daughters and his wife, that was normally our topic of conversation, he was a very proud daddy. He was full of life and compassion and a good team member. This really saddens me. I know he will me missed by many. Lance, may you R.I.P. buddy 🙏🏻✝️🙏🏻
The Huffman family is heartbroken. Lance was so enthusiastic, and so fun to be with. Our family times together are what we will hold on to and take comfort in. Our whole family sends our love. We are so sorry for your loss.
John and I send our love and deep sadness to hear about Lance’s passing. He is a faithful, kind, smart and talented man. The fruit of his life is bountiful, in all he did and who he was. We were blessed to know him and that we will see him again when we have our turn to go to heaven. We are praying for God’s comfort to be with you.
I am sorry to hear of Lance’s passing and I pray that HOLY SPIRIT will give the family peace and comfort in your time of grief. I knew Lance well, as we worked together, in Spring Hill. We always had a great relationship and had many great talks about the goodness of GOD, in our lives. I know he will be missed, but, think of the joy that he is experiencing in the presence of the LORD! May GOD bless and keep you all in HIS love and care always.
Sue I am so sorry to hear about Lance. May God comfort you and your family during this sad time. Blessings and love.
