Mr. Larry James “Poppy” Harrington passed away at home on August 14, 2024 surrounded by his family.
He is survived by wife, Dianne Morgan Harrington; sons, David Harrington and Derrick Harrington (Lisa); daughter, Lori Harrington; grand children, Haley Harrington (Graham), Brittney Martinez (David), Jasey Oakes (Josh), Magan Harrington (Chris Thompson), David Harrington, Jr., Cameron Harrington, Bigman Harrington, Sister Harrington, Kyla Clouse, Alex Clouse; great grandchildren, Braxton, Waylon, Evan, Kolton, Kessler, Livi, Emmy, Reni, Maverick, Hazel, McKenna; nephews, Michael Butler (Casey), Chuck Moore; nieces, Tammy and Sandy Moore.. He is also survived by his best friends, Terry Cart, William Wright and all his “West Nashville Buddies”. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Trolley (Betty’s Grill).
He is pre-deceased by father, Benedict Harrington; mother, Bessie Harrington; sister, Maryann Harrington (Reese), Teresa Harrington (Butler); niece, Rachael Reese, and nephew, Adam Reese.
Larry was self-employed in the construction business. He enjoyed racing, fishing, gardening, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family and his beloved grandchildren.
To pay tribute to Larry, the family will have his 1990 Ford F150 on display at the church the day of visitation.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 5:00 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Western Hills Church, 7565 Charlotte Pike, Nashville, TN 37209 with David Estes officiating.
Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Western Hills Church.

Poppy, you’re the best grandfather anyone could have had. Our lives will never be the same without you. I’ll forever keep you in my heart. I love you so much and I will miss you forever.
