Larry Wayne Curtis – Age 78, passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife of over 3 years, Glenda Curtis, of Fairview; devoted children, Regina (Eddie) Sloan of Murfreesboro and Brennan (Pam) Curtis of Nashville; grandchildren, Maggie (Caleb) Vick of Camden, Lincoln (Brileigh) Sloan of Murfreesboro, Brianna Curtis of Nashville and great grandson, Gentry Cade Vick of Camden; sisters, Janice (Walter) Enmen and Millie (Richard) Hornsby and numerous other family members. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Curtis and his parents, Connie and Mamie Curtis.

Larry was a licensed minister of the gospel with the United Pentecostal Church International. He was a life-long member of First Church Nashville where he served as a Board Member, Sunday School Director and full-time member of the Ministry Team. He was also instrumental in the creation and day to day operations of Curtis House. Through this Men’s rehabilitation center (TN Prison Outreach Ministry), the lives of many men have been changed. Larry was also heavily involved in other ministries in the TN District of the UPCI.

Larry was a lover of Jesus, the Gospel, his family and others. He never met a stranger and was an amazing example of the love of God. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation with the Curtis family will be held on Sunday, December 8th from 2PM-6PM, then again on Monday, December 9th from 4PM until 6:30PM. The Homegoing service will follow Monday evening at 6:30PM. All will take place at the First Church, located at 7512 Charlotte Pike, Nashville, TN 37209. Bishop Ron Becton, Pastor Roy Duke, Pastor Kevin Allen, and Pastor Jeremy White will officiate the service.

A private family graveside will be held on Tuesday at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. The pallbearers will be Caleb Vick, Lincoln Sloan, Nathan Foor, Tim Hampton, Phillip Hampton, Allen Bledsoe, David Taylor, and Danny Sexton.
