Lawrence "Larry" Lisle

Lawrence “Larry” Lisle, 76, passed away on July 18, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, kindness, service, and love for his family.

Larry truly never met a stranger. His warmth and kindness made people feel welcome, and he had a gift for connecting with others wherever he went. He was someone people could count on, and his generous spirit touched more lives than he likely ever knew.

A devout Catholic, Larry’s faith was at the center of his life. He lived his beliefs through his love for others, his service to those in need, and the compassion he showed every day.

Larry graduated from Father Ryan High School in 1969 and went on to dedicate 42 years of his career to St. Thomas. Outside of work, he gave generously of his time to serving others. Beginning in 1987, Larry volunteered with Room in the Inn, helping members of the homeless community for nearly four decades. He remained committed to this mission throughout his life, always willing to lend a hand, offer encouragement, or simply treat others with dignity and compassion.

Above all, Larry cherished his family. He was the devoted husband of Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Lisle and a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Beth; his daughters, Katie Lisle-Delfs (Nikolas) and Bridget Sowinski (Stephen); and his grandchildren, Ben Lisle, Collin Delfs, and Aidan Delfs.

Larry is also survived by his siblings, Ann Casey; Kathleen Rankin (Mike); Frank Lisle (Faye); Charlie Lisle; Jean Pennington; Therese Arbuckle; Joan Lisle; Mike Lisle (Jane); and Mary Jane Scruggs (Mark). He is also survived by his sisters-in-laws: Rose Anne Lisle, Margaret Lisle, Patsy Lisle, Dona Lisle, and Martha Lisle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben Lisle Sr. and Katherine Lisle; his grandmother, Janie Tribble; and his brothers, Ben Lisle Jr., James Lisle, Richard Lisle, John Lisle, Billy Lisle, and Bobby Lisle.

Larry will be remembered for his gentle heart, unwavering faith, devotion to Beth and his family, and lifelong commitment to helping others. Although he will be deeply missed, the love he gave and the example he set will continue to live on in all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2026, with Fr. John Raphael, Celebrant at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be held on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church.  A second visitation will be held on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass from 1:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church.
