Linda Dolan Saig, age 76, peacefully departed this world on March 5, 2024. Born on October 1, 1947, in Memphis, TN, to Russell and Phyllis Dolan, Linda graduated from Central High School in 1965 and attended Memphis State University.
Her journey to Millington began after meeting Emil Joe Saig on a blind date set up by a coworker at Memphis Light, Gas, and Water. They dated for three years before tying the knot on December 28, 1973. Linda moved to Millington, where she resided for nearly fifty years.
In 1977, Linda earned her real estate broker’s license, working at Saig Realty Company, later transitioning to become an insurance agent at Saig, McBride, and Stitt Insurance Company. Throughout their life together, E.J. and L.D., as they were affectionally known to each other, built a home, raised a family, and collaborated in their business endeavors for forty-eight years.
Linda was christened at St. Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral in Memphis, later becoming an active member of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in Millington for forty-six years. She dedicated her time to various church activities, serving on the altar guild, ECW, and vestry. Additionally, Linda volunteered for ten years at the Woman’s Exchange of Memphis, and she contributed to the Millington Food Pantry at First United Methodist Church.
In her community, Linda was a member of the Millington Book Club, participated in two Bridge clubs, and served lunch at the Women’s Exchange. Preceded in death by her husband Emil Joe Saig, parents Russell and Phyllis Dolan, her brother, Robert Edmund Dolan and her nephew Charles Russell Dolan.
Linda leaves behind her daughter Phyllis Baker (Nathan) of Knoxville, TN, son Joseph Saig (Reagan) of Nashville, TN, grandchildren Rexferd Thomas Baker, Westin Cade Baker, and Adalie Kate Saig, brother Thomas Russell Dolan (Judy) of Dallas, TX, sister-in-law Susan Dolan Trammell of Marianna, AR, and several nieces and nephews. by her brother,
