Resided in: Kingston Springs, Tennessee

Lionel Andrew Marquardt – Age 21, of Kingston Springs, passed from this life and entered into Heaven on Saturday, June 27, 2026.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Steven Jay Marquardt.

Lionel is survived by his father, Jason (Helen) Marquardt; and his mother, Beth (Steve) Nickens, his siblings, Jason “Jay” Marquardt, Seth Nickens, Emma Wilson, Miles Wilson, Hannah Nickens and Steven Nickens; bonus brother, Rob McNeil; his grandparents, Stephen (Janice) Matheny, and Karen Marquardt; uncles, Shane Marquardt, and James McCoy; his aunt, Lori Marquardt; several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members and friends; and his girlfriend, Willow.

Lionel was a proud 2022 graduate of Harpeth High School and someone who left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. As the running back for the Harpeth Indians, he played with determination and heart, earning Cheatham County Player of the Year in 2022 through his talent, grit, and relentless work ethic.

His passions reached far beyond the football field. He loved kayaking down the Harpeth River, running track, racing BMX, and spending hours creating incredible Lego builds as a true master builder. Whatever caught his interest, Lionel approached it with focus, creativity, and a drive to master it.

Those who knew Lionel will remember his gentle heart paired with a razor-sharp wit. He could make people laugh at just the right moment, and he was never afraid to stand his ground. Stubborn? Absolutely. Hard-headed? At times. But those same traits made him fiercely determined and unwavering in his convictions. He loved a good debate, welcomed a challenge, and had an independent spirit that couldn’t be contained. Lionel lived life on his own terms, with courage, curiosity, and authenticity.
