I have many happy memories of Marie when she was a young bride of my brother Troy.
Marie and my older sister Zella were close friends and close in age. An especially fun memory is the time Zella needed a car. She had no knowledge of buying or driving a car and Marie took her to car dealer and helped with picking out old 39 ford and giving her quick instructions how to get the thing home. Marie taught my sis and me how to drive and we had lot of laughs as she patiently instructed us about clutch, shift, stop, go, arm signals, and stay on the road, not in the ditch. I remember the fun and laughter we always had with her.
She was always so sweet and kind to my mom and my young sisters and brothers.
I am so very sorry for the loved ones left behind but I am sure she is with her life long sweet heart Troy and so very happy. I pray that God gives each of the family a great peace and comfort. With love to Stacie, Monica, M.J., Ollie Joyce, and families.

Oh how this wonderful amazing lady will be missed. Marie was married to my cousin Troy. I always enjoyed visiting with her whether it would be at a family reunion, or when they would come down to visit her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. Dan and Mrs.Bobbie Allen.
Marie always make sure to tell me how proud she was of me and things that I had accomplished in life. The last time we were together was at a family reunion in Tennessee. Hosted by Steve & joyce Miller. I’ll always be grateful to the knowledge that Marie shared with me.
R.I.P. Sweet Lady. Gone but never will be forgotten.
Mrs Marie was such a wonderful woman. I enjoyed the times I got to work with her at Vanderbilt University. I was so happy when I found out she and Troy knew my dad and were friends. I do pray for comfort and peace for Stacie and the rest of the family.
Mrs Marie was a beautiful soul. I was blessed to have known her and to have had some meaningful and precious conversations with her. Mr. Troy and Mrs. Marie were both blessings in my our lives when we needed it most. Continued Prayers, comfort and peace for Stacie and the entire family.
We are so sad that Marie has passed from this life but knowing that she will be in our hearts forever is a comfort. The reunion held at our house would not have been the same with out Marie and Stacie. She was a very loving person and a good listener. Our prayers go out to her family. Marie you will be missed so much.
Miss Marie was a very wonderful person with a compassionate heart.
She was a great example of a christian and a dedicated Pastor’s wife.
We held a very special connection with her going back many years.
She will be greatly missed.

I had the honor of taking care of Marie during her last days at Alive Hospice. I was able to get to know both Stacie and Monica who are the image of strength. Marie’s family is simply beautiful. The love that I felt in her room was something I’ll never forget. It was truly a reward to not only take care of her, but her amazing family. My thoughts are with her family at this time. ❤️
Marie was a very caring person, a friend through my now deceased husband, Doug Phelps, where they worked together at Vanderbilt for many years. Condolences to the family!
