Mary Davenport Payne

Payne, Mary Davenport August 12, 1946-March 19, 2022 Preceded in death by her parents, Issac Charles Davenport and Nina (Todd) Davenport and her beloved sister Saundra Mitchell. Mary is survived by her children Les (Janice) Ladd of Donelson, Charles (Karla) Ladd of Hermitage, Jennifer Payne of Tucson, AZ and Allison (Joseph) West of Birmingham, AL. Mary’s grandchildren were her absolute delight- Matthew Ladd, Kelsey and CJ Ladd, and Jay and Lizzy West. Her great-grandaughter Kali Ladd was equally loved and adored by her Mimi. Mary is survived by her younger sister Rita (Rusty) Ayers of Donelson, nieces and nephews Cathy Sanford of Franklin, James Ayers of Lebanon and Jessica Gilbert of Nashville and their families. Mary was born in Ypsalanti, Michigan and grew up in Donelson. Mary was a 1964 graduate of Donelson High School, worked in the home and outside of the home with many years spent caring for babies and toddlers. Mary’s life was always centered around caring for others. She was completely devoted to supporting her children and putting other’s needs before her own. A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 27, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Pennington United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service.
