Mary Grace White

Mary Grace White, age 68,of Fairview, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at Alive Hospice on October 15, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. Mary Grace graduated in 1973 from St. Cecilia Academy in Nashville.

She earned an Associate of Arts from Aquinas JUNIOR College. She received a B.A. from Notre Dame College in Cleveland, Ohio. After working several years in New York with the Hawthorne Dominican Sisters, who work with patients with incurable cancer, she returned to Nashville and earned her Associate of Science in Nursing from Aquinas College in 1992. She worked for over 20 years as a nurse until she retired for health reasons. Mary Grace’s passion in life was gourmet cooking and dogs. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Madison, where she sang in the choir for many years.

Mary Grace was preceded in death by her parents, David Pearce White and Doris Teresa Hyde White. She is survived by her sister Christine Haag and her husband Tim Haag, a brother, David Brian White, and nieces Crystal Haag Atkinson and Rachel Haag Arcinas. She is survived by special friends Sister Joan Marie Ligon, O.P., Rebecca Horton, Peggy Daniel, and the St Cecilia Academy Class of 1973. Rebecca and Peggy walked especially closely with Mary Grace during the last few weeks of her illness.
