Michael Mackenzie “Mikey” Mitchell, born November 5, 1987, in Nashville, TN beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend, passed away after a 3-year battle with ALS on Saturday, February 17, 2024, surrounded by his family in Joelton.

Michael was preceded in death by his maternal Granddaddy, Arthur Virgle Netherton, Sr., paternal grandparents, Franklin C. Mitchell, Sr., and Beulah Young.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Heather Sharpe Mitchell, and beautiful son, Nickolas Mitchell; his parents, Franklin “Jr.” C. Mitchell, Jr. and Tamara “Tammy” Mitchell; brothers, Malachi (Jamie) Mitchell, Micah Mitchell and honorary brother, Randy McNeese; father and mother in law, Russell and Cathy Sharpe; brother in law, Steven Sharpe; Nana, Linda Netherton, uncle, Virgle (Heidi) Netherton, Aunt Vickie (Ellery) Malone, Aunt Tonya (Doug) Dennis as well as his life long friends that he considered brothers and sister, Gerald Black, James and Jacob Pitt, and Laura (Scoot) Hodges along with many cousins and friends.

Michael loved all things Ghostbusters, prior to his illness he was an active member in the Tennessee Ghostbusters, among other groups. Besides the great love of his beautiful wife and son, he loved his Nashville Predators, Green Day, Queen, Back to the Future, D&D, Wayne’s World, and Harry Potter.

A Celebration of Michael’s life will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024, at New Beginnings Church located at 7700 George E. Horn Drive, Nashville, TN 37221. The family will be receiving visitors from 9AM until 11:30AM with Michael’s memorial starting at 11:30AM; after his service a huge celebration of Michael will take place until 7PM. Special thanks are in order for Dewayne Ferrell with MNPS, for offering shuttle services from Royal Range over to the church due to minimal parking. The family would like to emphasize that this will be a time of CELEBRATING and have asked that everyone wear Ghostbusters, Nashville Predators, Green Day, Harry Potter, Queen, D&D, Back to the Future, or Wayne’s World attire. His celebration will be very informal. We ask as well if you would like to share experiences, fabulous stories about Michael, please let the family know. Also, if you would like to bring any food or drinks, they are encouraged.

  6. certainly like your web-site but you need to check the spelling on quite a few of your posts. A number of them are rife with spelling problems and I in finding it very troublesome to inform the reality however I will surely come back again.
