Peter "Pete" Preston

Peter Preston “Pete” -Age 71, of Gallatin, TN, passed from this life on Monday, November 14, 2022. Pete was a native of Piseco, New York. His true passion in life was racing. He started racing snowmobiles competitively at the age of 14. Eventually, this led to his passion for racing cars. He was known to many as “Sneaky Pete” on the racetrack. Although he raced at several locations, the Mobile International Speedway was home. During the many years racing, he proved himself to be a skilled Wheelman, capturing track championships and winning the Snowball Derby in Pensacola, Florida twice. When he hung up his helmet, he moved on to the technical side assisting at many tracks including the Ominous Room of doom tech area at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola Florida. Pete is preceded in death by his wife, Janice Davis Preston. He is survived by his daughter Kristina (Paul) Rueff; granddaughter, Elizabeth; his siblings, Tom Preston, Margaret (Jim) Gramlich; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends. A memorial service to celebrate Pete’s life will be held at a later date.
