Rebecca Jean Ferguson 

Rebecca Jean Ferguson, born on Thursday November 21, 1935, in Shelbyville, TN, passed away peacefully in her residence on Saturday, April 13, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee. Her daughter, Genna Mansperger, was by her side during her final moments. Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Vantrese Ferguson and Hazel Bethel Ferguson, as well as her brothers James, Ada Dean, Harold, Margie, Maurice, Mildred, Bill, June, and Glenn, and sister, Frieda Petty (Wayne).

She is survived by her daughter, Hazel “Genna” Mansperger, her twin sister Reba Ferguson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rebecca dedicated many years of her early life to working at Harvey’s Department Store, where she and her twin sister were famously known as the Harvey Twins. She moved out of state for many years, moved back to Nashville and worked Additionally, she held positions at Kroger’s in Bellevue and Dillard’s. She had a deep love for her family and cherished her animals. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.

On behalf of her daughter, a heartfelt thank you is extended to Alive Hospice for the exceptional care provided during Rebecca’s final days. A special gratitude is also extended to Robin and Marine, who took excellent care of her and became great friends over the past nine months, bringing her immeasurable joy.

  7. Very sorry to learn today about the passing of Rebecca. My ex wife and I became good friends with Rebecca when she lived in Oklahoma City about 48 years ago. Taffy was Genna’s nanny in those days. What a kind, sweet woman! Can’t forget that big smile and the beautiful Nashville accent. She was a joy to know! Rest in peace, my friend.
