Prayers for the family
You always made me feel like one of your kiddos. I will never forget our trip to Gatlinburg and you let me tagalong as one of the family. You gave me and Penny control of the radio and boy did you regret it! Whitney Houston‘s I will always love you played about 1000 times on the way up. On 1001 you were done and politely yelled, “turn that wailin woman off!!!!” About five minutes later, when we caught our breath from laughing so hard, we laughed some more. There is never a time I remember being around you that you didn’t make us laugh and know we were loved. I will miss you. God will be laughing a little more with you up there!
He always had a joke to greet me at church. Always bring a smile to me and others. No matter how he felt. He will be missed no doubt. Yet, so thankful to have an eternal assurance that he may have left this planet in his body. He is with Jesus in glory. Which I (we) will see again forever. Laughing and having a good ole time. Because of all Jesus have paid. Love you brother.
Richard (Dick) and Karen have been a part of my Sunday mornings at Love’s Way Church for several years., I so looked forward to our brief chats prior to the service. These are two brothers and sisters in Christ that I hold dear to my heart. My heartfelt condolences to the Hawthorne family and to Karen especially. My prayers for the peace of our Lord which passes all understanding be with you all. May our Lord hold all of you in His loving arms.
Ward and I met Dick and Karen through the home school at LWC. They approached me about the Loving Hands Ministry, wanting to help another family at the time. Dick jumped up from his chair and began writing down their contact information for me — adamant that they’d help the family with meals any day that was needed. First impressions of these two people proved to be correct — warm, loving, kind, giving, caring, and Godly people. We miss seeing Dick at Love’s Way Church. But he has a better seat than any of us on this earth. Our love to Karen and the family.
My Friend, You BELIEVED in me. Always encouraged me when I was leading Worship. When I delivered Timothy you ask me countless times when I would be back up there. Thank you for always being a vessel for Jesus. When I lost my Pa in 2018, I gained you and you treating me like I was one of your own. Can’t wait to give you the biggest Hug in Heaven. I miss you!
Karen, you and Papa Dick became family to me, Julian and Mycal. We will always remember Papa Dick’s infectious spirit. We love you guys! Shawn, Julian and Mycal Caster
Dickie and his family were members where I pastored for several years. He had the heart of a servant and was always willing to help with any problems others had or work that needed done at the church. He was a friend of mine and I could not help loving him. He was like a brother from the first time we met. I never heard him complain about anything or talk disparaging about anyone. He never put on airs or pretended to be anything or anyone he wasn’t. He was just Dickie, and he was the same anyplace he was. I will miss him until the day I join him in heaven.
