Resided in: Kingston Springs, Tennessee

Shaun James Cook Sr., 47, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, surrounded by the love and memories of those whose lives he touched so deeply. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, Shaun was a devoted father, loving partner, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, and loyal friend to many. His presence brought strength, laughter, wisdom, and love to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Above all else, Shaun loved his family. He leaves behind his beloved children: Demiesha, Ziyan, Vshaunna, Shaunnia, Shaun Cook Jr., and Edward who will continue to carry his love, lessons, and spirit with them always. He also leaves behind his precious granddaughter, Della, who brought joy to his life, and his loving girlfriend, Laila, who stood beside him with love and support.

Shaun is survived by his father, Robert Miller; his siblings Adam Cook (Jessica Cook), Robert Jr., Edward, Brandon, Tracy, and Maureen; along with his cherished niece, Arin.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Diane Cook, and his niece, Sydney, whom he loved dearly.

Shaun will be remembered for his strength, his heart, and the way he encouraged those around him to keep moving forward no matter what life brought their way. His favorite saying, “Trust the process — it gets greater later,” was more than words; it was the way he lived his life and the message he leaves behind for those he loved.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in knowing that God welcomed him home with peace and everlasting rest. Shaun’s love, guidance, and memory will remain with his family and friends forever. His legacy will continue through the lives he touched, the love he gave, and the faith he inspired in others.

A Homegoing service to honor and celebrate Shaun’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 12:00pm until 3:00pm, at Western Hills Church, located at 7565 Charlotte Pike in West Nashville.
