Sherrie Romaine Hustedt was born in Blue Earth, Minnesota on April 24th, 1935 to Helen and Leonard Dybevick. She was raised in Milwaukee, WI and Robbinsdale, MN with her beloved brother Lowell and sister Susan. She was extremely proud of her Minnesota Norwegian heritage and loved spending summers on her grandparents’ farm. As a young adult she moved with her family to the Miami, FL area and, on Lowell’s suggestion, became a stewardess for National Airlines. She delighted in telling stories of her flying days and once met John F. Kennedy. On one particular flight between Miami and New York she met Harry R. Hustedt who demanded that she bring ice for his whiskey. To apologize, Harry asked her on a date and she agreed. Marrying Harry and settling on Long Island, she became the consummate homemaker, raised her son. and then worked for Easterseals. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and sailing with Captain Harry. When Harry retired, she once again moved to Florida to be close to her siblings and parents. There, she was devoted to her volunteer work with the Volusia County Museum of Arts and Sciences. She moved to Nashville in 2014 to be close to Eric. After a long struggle with dementia, she passed away peacefully on August 29th 2022.
