In Loving Memory of Sherry Tester Haley:

Our hearts are heavy as we bid farewell to a remarkable woman who touched the lives of everyone she met. Sherry, beloved wife, nurturing mother, and cherished Gigi, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. Her life was a testament to compassion, selflessness, and unwavering love.

Born April 13, 1957, Sherry grew up with a spirit of kindness that defined her character. She dedicated her life to her family, nurturing a home filled with warmth and laughter. As a wife, she was the heart of the family, providing endless love and support to her spouse, Ricky. Her children, Keith Knight (Emilee), Adam Haley (Ashley) and Ashley Fulghum (Jake) were her pride and joy, each blessed with her gentle guidance and boundless affection. To her siblings Brenda & Susan, she was a pillar of support and an example of resilience and compassion.

As “Gigi” to her grandchildren, Kyle Knight, Connor Fulghum and Maggie Fulghum, she showered them with love, creating cherished memories that will resonate through generations. Her home was a sanctuary of love, where family gathered to celebrate milestones and share in her unwavering generosity.

Sherry was known for her kindness towards others, always extending a helping hand and comforting presence to those in need. Her selflessness and empathy were truly unparalleled, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

In her spare time, Sherry enjoyed gardening and baking, but her real passion was the mountains. Annually she and Ricky would travel west to experience the beauty and peacefulness of the outdoors.

Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire us all. Though she has left this world, her memory and example will forever live on in our hearts and minds. Sherry’s journey here on earth may have come to an end, but her spirit will continue to guide and comfort us.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported them during this difficult time. Your kindness and sympathy have provided great comfort.

A celebration of Sherry’s life will be held 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3rd at Western Hills Church, 7565 Charlotte Pike, Nashville, TN 37209.  Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at Western Hills Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Center.

Though we grieve her loss deeply, we take solace in knowing that Sherry is at peace and lived a life as Romans 13:9 says can be summed up in one command, “Love your neighbors as yourself”.

Forever in our hearts, forever loved.

  7. There are no words that can capture my sadness over the loss of my beloved friend Sherry! She was full of love, a wonderful mom and wife, a great cook and hostess, who loved to travel in the motorhome with Ricky, friends and family, especially to the mountains out west where she enjoyed the aspens, wildlife, sunrises and sunsets. Just as she was an angel on earth, she is now an angel in heaven. Blessings and prayers to Sherry’s family who will miss her so, so much! Sherry, you will always be in my heart!!!

  8. I am so very sorry for our loss. Sherry was a wonderful woman. She was a second mom to me. I will miss her so very much. She shared with me the stories of their adventures out west in the motorhome. And the pictures she would share of the places they visited were amazing. May God keep you all safe. I love you most Sherry Haley!
