Shirley Robinson, born on September 26, 1948, in Holden, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2024. Shirley lived a fulfilling life, characterized by her dedication to her family, her career, and her hobbies.
Shirley was a devoted secretary, known for her diligence and kindness, touching the lives of many colleagues and clients over the years. Outside of work, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid TV watcher, a proud University of Tennessee and Dallas Cowboys fan. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her passion for camping and boating, activities she enjoyed immensely with her family. She also dedicated many hours volunteering for meals on wheels.
Shirley is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Billy Robinson Sr. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. She leaves behind her children, Cindy Dorris and her husband Rex, and Billy Robinson Jr. and his wife Zarina. Her legacy also lives on in her grandchildren: Audrianna Houff (Tate), Nathaniel Dorris, Dallas Robinson, and Ashley Robinson; her sister, Marlene Luffman (Ronnie) and brother, Joe Beckham (Margaret).
Shirley will be remembered for her warm heart, her unwavering support of her loved ones, and her zest for life. Her family and friends will miss her dearly but take comfort in the many wonderful memories they shared.
May her soul rest in peace.
Visitation with the Robinson family will be on Thursday evening, May 30th from 4PM until 7PM, then again on Friday morning, May 31st, from 10AM until 11AM. The funeral service to celebrate Shirley’s life will follow Friday at 11AM. Interment will immediately follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. The pallbearers will be: Dallas Robinson, Nathaniel Dorris, Joe Beckham, Rex Dorris, Tate Houff, and Ronnie Luffman. Following the graveside service there will be a comfort meal back at the church.
