Steve was born in Nashville as the 6th born child to George and Oklean Hanvy. He remained a lifelong resident of TN. Steve was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He was a family man and poured all of himself into his family. Steve’s love was unconditional. He was gentle when needed but could also delve out words of steel.
Steve was a carpenter by trade and the epitome of a hard-working Cowboy. His larger-than-life hands were magic, there was nothing he couldn’t do – whether it was breaking wild horses, building a porch, putting on a roof, laying hardwood floors, building baby changing tables, making knives, whittling custom walking sticks and most importantly, patting his grand-babies to sleep. Steve was known for his generosity with his God given talents. Steve’s hands have undoubtedly left everlasting marks on our homes and hearts.
Steve’s favorite past times were horseback riding, hunting, and fishing. He took great pride in teaching the younger generations the art of each sport.
As our Cowboy rides off into heaven, we are left with an astounding legacy that will live on forever through all those who love him.
