Todd Franklin Meek

August 5, 1961 – July 20, 2026

Todd Franklin Meek was born in Huntington, WV to James Franklin Meek and Betty Lee Fischer Meek.

Todd is survived in loving memory by his wife, Pamela Susan “Susie” Meek; his two daughters, Heather Lauren Meek Hargraves (Chase) and Allison Paige Meek; his elder brother, James Wesley “Wes” Meek (Carolyn); his younger sister, Paige Fischer Meek Cobb (Mike); and two nieces, Jodie Renae Meek Greis (Robbie) and Carolyn Ashley Meek Bowling (Jack).

From childhood through adulthood, he was a constant source of strength and reassurance, always ready with a helping hand, a listening ear, and a loving heart. Todd had a boisterous personality and patience like no other, which gave him a gift for mentoring and teaching. He was always thinking a step ahead, could sense fear, resolve the worry, isolate the noise, and shine light on the possible. He had a love of learning and was almost entirely self-taught. His hobbies included beekeeping, harvesting honey, and spending time with his horses, Windy, Kaliki, and his late horse, Scarlet. He gave generously of his time to charities serving the homeless and underprivileged children, including Barefoot Republic Camp and the Unwavering Resolve Foundation, among others. He was deeply empathetic, caring, and he loved public speaking — he had a gift for commanding a room. Truly the irony of a man that wanted for nothing, yet was the most deserving.

Susie brought light into Todd’s life, and all who knew him were fortunate to know the man he became alongside her. She was his voice of reason, his comfort in pain, a hand to hold, and his light at the end of the day. Her family welcomed and loved him to no avail. In recent years, he and Susie bought a 50-acre property that became a peaceful place to slow down and be in nature with their dogs, Mocha and the late Greyson.

Todd’s daughters were his pride and joy. It was a rare occasion if he wasn’t sharing past times or latest achievements. He enjoyed traveling for their soccer games, helping with science projects, bonfires in the backyard, teaching them how to ride horses; and steadily worked through the highs and lows. Heather shares his love for horses, his strong-will and caregiving; and Ali has always shared his love for outdoors, analytical thinking, and humor bringing laughter to all. His son-in-law Chase admired him greatly — Todd taught him carpentry, life skills, patience, and much more.

Todd was the glue to most everyone but especially with his brother and sister. Paige felt like home to him, and he called on her often to share experiences and talk through decisions. He cherished his brotherly bond with Wes, and the two shared a love of soccer, fatherhood, and memories of hosting friends growing up.

He had a passion for photography and a knack for bringing a smile to anyone in the room — it never took much to get him to strike a pose. He was known as “Photo Meek” for his years as the school photographer, was a creative mind, often making things by hand.

He loved the outdoors, beach walks, golfing when the ‘ole back would let him, gardening, horseback riding, fishing (or ‘catching’), and simply “piddling around” — a man on the move.

Fiercely competitive, he loved competing with his girls at ping pong and corn hole, and each year he spearheaded the family betting tradition at Steeplechase with Susie and his in-laws.

Todd had a deep appreciation for architecture and engineering, spending more than 20 years managing medical office buildings and leading real estate acquisitions, most recently serving as SVP, Asset Management for Healthpeak. He cared deeply for each one of his teammates and the company – always going above and beyond.

He was simply the guy you could call – should you need an answer, a plan, or just a voice on the other end of the phone — he was who you wanted when you were in need.
